Getting the right equipment is essential to enhancing your diving experience. It is recommended to have your own scuba gear for the Deep specialty. For your course, please make sure you own at minimum a mask, snorkel, boots, fins, a wreck reel, underwater torch, a slate and an Underwater Deployable Surface Marker Buoy (DSMB).
To get the maximum benefit from this course, we recommend investing in your own regulators, BCD and computer. Please call the shop or have a look on our online store for options. Equipment hire is available at the standard rates.
Dive sites will be selected based on depth and optimum conditions, with the weather taken into account. You will do 1 shore dive to practice line work and key skills before going off the boats. The 4 course training dives will be boat dives and you will need to have logged minimum one shore dive in Victoria in the last 6 months before going on the boats.
The wreck sites are usually the ex-HMAS Canberra, the J4 Submarine, the Eliza Ramsden and the Coogee. Many beautiful deeper wreck sites, such as the J1 and J5 Submarines are penetrable, however you will need to be deep certified to do these. Please speak to staff for more information on combining the PADI Wreck, Deep and EANX specialties.
