Looking for the next step? Continue your diving in Melbourne and increase your confidence with the PADI Advanced Open Water Course! And no, you don’t have to be “advanced” to take it – it’s designed so you can go straight into it after the PADI Open Water Diver course.
This is a great way to get more dives logged while continuing to learn under the supervision of your PADI Instructor. This course builds on what you’ve learned and develops new skills by introducing you to new activities and new ways to have fun scuba diving.
EXPLORATION
You will understand how to effectively navigate underwater using a compass and natural navigation techniques, as well as fine-tuning your buoyancy. Dive deeper to 30 meters
EXCITEMENT
You will have one of the best weekends of your life scuba diving and expanding on the skills you already have.
EXPERIENCES
Experience dive sites in a whole new light when diving at night, and immerse yourself in history by diving some of the incredible wrecks that lie around the waters of Melbourne.

IMPORTANT NOTES
- 12 years of age and above.
- PADI Open Water certified (or Junior OW), or equivalent.
- Signed Liability Release and Statement of Safe Diving Practices.
- Medical Declaration form and Recreational Dive Medical if necessary (For a list of diving doctors please go to www.spums.org.au.)
- We highly recommend that you have access to a car for the duration of your course as Academy of Scuba does not offer transportation services currently.

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED
- For your Advanced Open Water course, we ask that you have your own snorkeling equipment and a knife, torch and slate, so that you are able to relax and get the most from your training. We highly recommend that all our students also carry a reel and DSMB.
- Academy of Scuba offers value packages for this equipment, with items available in a wide range of styles and price ranges.
- To get the maximum benefit from this course, we recommend investing in your own regulators, BCD and computer. Please call the shop or have a look on our online store for options. Equipment hire is available at the standard rates.
