The Coral Reef Conservation Specialty course helps you appreciate the complexity of the colourful, beautiful coral habitats that you see when you go snorkelling or scuba diving.
The course teaches you how you can help conserve these vital systems using micro-fragmentation. This has been the method of choice to propagate branching corals for many years. Originally widespread in the aquarium hobby to produce and trade live Pacific corals, this method has also proven successful in restoring damaged reefs.
To enrol in the AWARE Coral Conservation course you just need to have a passion for the ocean!
We can tailor this course to kids as well, so this is a great option for families wanting to learn a bit more about the oceans together!

Did you know that Academy of Scuba is a 100% AWARE Dive Centre, in addition to being a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Centre? This means that every time Academy of Scuba certifies a student, at any level of diving, we make a donation to Project AWARE. 100% AWARE donations are put towards projects which target protection for the world’s most threatened shark species and the removal and prevention of marine debris from treasured underwater environments. Together we can make ocean protection a reality. Check out our My Ocean page on Project AWARE’s website, and don’t forget to book onto our next Dive Against Debris!
